The Harp Popper 70F is the bigger of the two Harps, and the extra size changes what it does. The cupped face moves more water, so the pop is deeper and carries further — useful in a chop, in coloured water, or when you want to pull fish up from a distance rather than tease one sitting right under the lure.
At 70 mm and 9 g it casts well into a headwind and handles larger predators. Fish it in sharp pulls with deliberate pauses; a popper that is worked too fast never gets eaten.
Good water for it is shallow and open — bars, points, reed edges and the ends of jetties — through the warmer months when fish hunt at the surface. If you want a quieter, more delicate presentation for smaller fish, the 40F covers that end.
