Hanfish Breaking Jighead

The Breaking Jighead is built for soft TPE baits — the jelly-textured kind that slide off an ordinary jighead after two casts. The shank is shaped to grip that material and hold the bait straight through the cast and the retrieve, which is the difference between a lure that swims and one that comes back bunched up around the hook bend.

The head is a mushroom profile. On the drop it planes rather than plummets, giving the bait a slower, more natural fall, and once it lands the bait settles at roughly 45° — nose down, tail up, which is the attitude a feeding fish expects to see and the easiest angle from which to hook one.

That combination makes it a natural partner for the softer baits in our range, fished slowly on the bottom with long pauses.

Choosing a colour

• Silver — the neutral default; clear water and bright light
• Green — a natural tone over weed and darker bottoms
• Lemon UV and Orange UV — UV-active, for stained water, depth, or low light

The head is the first thing a fish sees on the drop, so a bright or UV head is worth trying when takes are coming on the fall rather than off the bottom.

Choosing a size

• No. 4, 1–1.8 g — small baits, shallow water, calm conditions
• No. 1, 1.8–3.5 g — the general-purpose range for perch
• No. 1/0 – 2/0, 5–10 g — deeper water, current, or larger baits
